• MPI-WI and WSAE Summer Event June 23, 2011

On June 22 - 23, we invite you to Heidel House Resort and Tuscumbia Golf Club for the 6th Annual MPI/WSAE golf outing! It makes no difference if you golf or not, you can join us for part or all of the event. Either way, you’ll experience the learning, networking and camaraderie for which this event is famous.

The event kicks off Wednesday with a valuable “ideas exchange.” Registrants will have the opportunity to exchange key concepts the day before the golf outing on June 22. These 6 topics crucial to top meeting professionals and association executives will be facilitated and discussed to highlight which methods work and which don’t, in a relaxed, non-pressure setting.

Wednesday evening will be highlighted by a reception hosted by Heidel House Resort.

Fun for the golfer and non-golfer! Golfers will enjoy one of Wisconsin’s oldest courses nestled in the charming and historic resort community of Green Lake. The course is surrounded by a maze of century-old trees adding to the beauty of the course.  Non-Golfers will be taken back in time by the Captains of the Escapade for a brief, but rich historical boat tour of beautiful Green Lake.  Following the cruise non-golfers will step into an oasis of relaxation to enjoy a specially prepared lunch at the Evensong Spa.  After the amazing lunch, you will travel to Larson’s Clydesdales Show, a truly exciting, entertaining, and fun 90-minute guided tour with a short grandstand show.

3:00-5:00 Idea Exchange – Round Tables
A valuable “ideas exchange” will take place June 22 at the Heidel House Resort in Green Lake. At least 10 topics crucial to top meeting professionals and association executives will be facilitated and discussed to highlight which methods work and which don’t, in a relaxed, non-pressure setting. The informal roundtable format has been known to cultivate “best practices.” The best ideas surface and can be used to better the practices of other organizations. Roundtable topics may include legal issues in meeting planning, green meetings, social media, membership retention, public policy, and more. There is a $20 fee for attending the ideas exchange.

You will be playing one of Wisconsin’s oldest courses nestled in the charming and historic resort community of Green Lake. Tuscumbia was founded in 1896 and promises to provide a challenge with tight fairways, demanding greens, and rolling landscape. A maze of century-old trees and thick rough add to the beauty of the course. Tuscumbia’s 6,514 yards, par 71, 70.3 rating and slope of 127, is fun and challenging for both the occasional and serious golfer.

During your sightseeing boat tour aboard the Escapade, our captains will take you back in time for a brief, but rich history of our beautiful Green Lake, the deepest inland lake in Wisconsin. By the time you reach shore, you’ll be laughing and chatting with everyone aboard – a great way to kick off the morning.

After the amazing lunch, you will travel to one of the only places in the United States where visitors can see fourteen famous Clydesdales, close-up and personal. A truly exciting, entertaining, and fun 90-minute guided tour with a short grandstand show. Included in the show is the newest mascot, Mac Gregor, a great Scottie dog. Don’t forget to bring your camera to take pictures of the rare baby Clydesdale and visit the museum and gift shop.
