The Time Has Come Today: Re-evaluating Your AV and Event Technology
#MPIWIAprEd

Enjoy an action-packed trip to Iowa as the Dubuque Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Hotel Julien host this unique MPI-WI event.

Drive on your own or join us on the bus!

Meet us in Madison on Wednesday afternoon, to join us for a group bus ride to Dubuque
. The Sheraton Madison Hotel is graciously providing overnight parking for your cars. Our bus ride to Hotel Julien is provided by Dubuque Convention & Visitor’s Bureau.

Bus ride is limited to the first 50 registrants!

Start the day with a city tour… Thursday morning, we’ll have an eye-opening tour of Iowa’s oldest community.

Brandt Krueger, our April featured speaker has technology in his DNA. Part presentation, part workshop, part "town hall", this session will be a frank discussion of audiovisual and event technology. What was once on everybody's "hot list" is now commonplace, or even expected at our events, and what was once bleeding-edge technology has come of age. On the other hand, new toys and technologies are coming at us at an almost unprecedented speed. How is the savvy planner able to decide what technology is right for them? We'll talk old-school and new-school technology, what works, and how to implement it at your events in a way that makes sense. Bring your toughest AV and event technology questions!

Don't forget to attend our complimentary CMP 101 session before lunch: MPI-Wisconsin is proud to offer CMP 101, which is a one-hour study session for those interested in taking the CMP exam. From January through May, Jodi Goldbeck, CMP will cover two domain topics per month. The sessions will include study tips, sample questions and focused topic presentations. Topics for this session: Site Management and Financial Management.

Please join us for a fun filled trip to Iowa in April!

The Time Has Come Today: Re-evaluating your AV and Event Technology

Part presentation, part workshop, part "town hall", this session will be a frank discussion of audiovisual and event technology. What was once on everybody's "hot list" is now commonplace, or even expected at our events, and what was once bleeding-edge technology has come of age. On the other hand, new toys and technologies are coming at us at an almost unprecedented speed. How is the savvy planner able to decide what technology is right for them? We'll talk old-school and new-school technology, what works, and how to implement it at your events in a way that makes sense. Bring your toughest AV and event technology questions!

Attendees of this session will learn:
  • Attendees will have a greater knowledge of "mature" technologies that are ready to implement today.
  • Attendees will receive real-world examples of potential implementations of advanced technology like drones, virtual reality, and projection mapping.
  • Attendees should feel more confident in their abilities to negotiate and implement audiovisual and event technology.

Speaker Bio:

Technology is part of Brandt Krueger's DNA. Combine that with a degree in Technical Theatre and a core in Psychology, add in 20 years experience in the meetings and events industry, and you get a powerful event technology cocktail. Brandt has spoken at industry events and seminars all over the world, been published in many magazines and websites, and teaches public and private classes on event technology for the Event Leadership Institute. In addition to providing freelance technical production services, he’s also the owner of Event Technology Consulting, an appropriately named meeting and event technology consulting company. Community Outreach -   Opening Doors

Opening Doors is the nonprofit organization that operates Maria House and Teresa Shelter.  Homeless women, alone or with children, come to us to help rebuild their lives.  We provide goal setting and life skills training that will enable them to take care of themselves and achieve their full potential.  Women are dependent when they come in…independent when they leave.

Since 2000, Maria House has provided transitional housing, where residents can stay for as long as two years.  In 2006, we opened Teresa Shelter.  It offers extended stay housing, as well as short-term emergency shelter services.  Both shelters provide a safe place for all women and children who find themselves homeless due to circumstances beyond their control.
