Navigating the Turbulent Waters of the Meeting Profession:  Whether or not you'd ever choose to paddle a river, these analogies hit home for all of us, most especially those in the meeting industry: how you show up; the absolute necessity of giving and receiving support; tapping into the creativity of your team; the no-frills power of positivity; communicating and working together in fast-paced changing times; down-to-earth tools for staying afloat—personally and professionally.

Navigating the Turbulent Waters of the Meeting Profession

Join speaker, wilderness guide, and poet, Chris Heeter, for a Wild ride into the world of whitewater canoeing. Whether or not you'd ever choose to paddle a river, these analogies hit home for all of us, most especially those in the meeting industry: how you show up; the absolute necessity of giving and receiving support; tapping into the creativity of your team; the no-frills power of positivity; communicating and working together in fast-paced changing times; down-to-earth tools for staying afloat—personally and professionally. Being tasked with coming up with more and more creative conferences and content delivery is passionate work. Join us for memorable stories, interaction, and wild ways of calling out the best and most creative sides of yourself and your team.

Top Take-aways:

1. Develop more self-awareness about how you show up, what your strengths are in a group, the simple things you need in order to thrive
2. Learn how to re-group and re-ground yourself in the moment.
3. Envision how your Wild self (free, authentic, creative, whole, daring) can be present in all areas of your life.
4. Improve communication skills, especially when under stress or dealing with a lot of change

Speaker Bio:

Chris Heeter, an award winning speaker and business owner, is out to create a wild revolution in the workplace. A wilderness guide since 1984 and member of the National Speakers Association, Chris has led and worked with countless groups, helping them find their way as teams, organizations, and individuals.

Featured on The Discovery Channel's “National Geographic Today,” she brings decades of leadership experience indoors, to conferences and offices, working with teams and leaders, helping us recognize that leadership and communication doesn't have to be so complicated.  Deftly connecting business expertise with hilarious stories from her sled dog team and from whitewater canoe trips, Chris strengthens teams and inspires wild leadership.
