The Triangle Relationship:  Finding the Formula

George Kalka

How does a third party planner influence their client?  How can you communicate with the third party so it is beneficial and valuable to both the Planner and the Supplier? George Kalka with Fox World Travel will delve into this intriguing topic and educate participants on how to make a win/win relationship for all participants when a third party is involved.

George Kalka has held various professional hospitality and travel industry roles over the past fifteen years.  Even prior to his professional career, he was immersed in the industry at an early age growing up in Wisconsin Dells and working in his family’s business.  Perhaps as a prelude to his sales career, one of George’s first jobs was waving at passing by cars outside his family’s restaurant while dressed head to toe as a chicken… the restaurant’s signature offering.

Upon graduating with a bachelor of science in Hospitality, Tourism & Travel Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, George quickly became an accomplished sales person in the hotel industry, earning Starwood’s hotel salesperson of the year and La Quinta’s national sales person of the year distinctions.  He attributes this success to taking a unique approach with each customer, customizing product and service offerings tailored to their individual requirements.

In 2009, George became head of national brand sales for the Cambria Suites hotel chain.  In this role, he was responsible for the brand’s strategic sales direction and sales culture while driving revenue at a local, regional, and national level.  Under George’s sales leadership and development of peak performance program, the Cambria Suites brand gained over 20% market share.

In George’s current position, Senior Director, Account Management at Fox World Travel, he oversees the implementation, retention, and growth of the company’s business travel accounts through the delivery of strategies, solutions, and business intelligence to support their customers’ managed travel objectives.  He also leads the business development function of Fox’s events arm, Fox Premier Meetings & Incentives, focused on creating unique, memorable events that deliver value to both the customer’s company culture and financial bottom line.

George lives in Oshkosh, WI with his wife, Melissa, and their three children.
